Do you accept my insurance?
We accept most insurance plans and can bill them as a courtesy to you. In addition, we are preferred providers for the following insurance companies:
Blue Cross of Oregon, ODS, Delta Dental, United Concordia, Tricare Active Duty Dental Plan
We do not accept the Oregon Health Plan. Please contact their customer service for a provider in your area.
Do you accept payments?
We have several payment options available to finance your dental care. We will work with you to find the right option that fits your budget.
I am a new patient. Can I get my teeth cleaned on my first visit?
Generally yes. On your first visit with our office, we will reserve two hours especially for you. During this appointment, you will meet the doctor for a comprehensive examination which includes going over your xrays and dental/ medical history. We will also allow time for a regular* cleaning.
*If there is extra time needed for your examination or if it has been a while since your last cleaning, we may need to reappoint you for a more extensive cleaning. That determination will be made at your first visit. We want to allow plenty of time to answer your questions and make the best plan for your treatment needs.
I am very nervous in a dental office. What kind of relaxation techniques or sedation to you have?
We have nitrous oxide sedation available. In addition, we also have massage chairs and a DVD system with headphones so you can watch a movie from our movie library. You are also welcome to bring in your favorite movie or your I- pod. We are very sensitive to our patients and will help you every step of the way.
If I have a cavity, how long can I wait to get it fixed, even if it doesn’t hurt?
A cavity is an active bacterial infection that will do nothing but get worse, and quickly. Once it is diagnosed, we recommend you schedule to have the tooth restored no longer than two weeks later. By waiting longer, you add to the risk of the infection growing, infecting the nerve and possibly loss of the tooth.
What if I have a dental emergency after hours or over the weekend? Can I still get a hold of someone?
Yes. For existing patients, we have an after-hours emergency number:
At what age should I bring in my child for his/her first visit?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a first visit to the dentist as soon as your child has his/her first tooth or by their first birthday. Bring your child in for a “Happy Visit” to meet the dentist and start establishing care early on.

What is the difference between DMD and DDS?
source:http://www.ada.org/prof/ed/specialties/definitions.asp#dds
DMD—Doctor of Dental Medicine
DDS—Doctor of Dental Surgery
"Indicates the degree awarded upon graduation from dental school to become a general dentist. There is no difference between the two degrees; dentists who have a DMD or DDS have the same education. Universities have the prerogative to determine what degree is awarded. Both degrees use the same curriculum requirements set by the American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation. Generally, three or more years of undergraduate education plus four years of dental school is required to graduate and become a general dentist. State licensing boards accept either degree as equivalent, and both degrees allow licensed individuals to practice the same scope of general dentistry. Additional post-graduate training is required to become a dental specialist, such as an orthodontist, periodontist or oral and maxillofacial surgeon."
